The red and green kangaroo paw.
The Western Australia state flower - (Anigozanthus manglessii)
Bush fire swept through this area eighteen months ago - that coupled with record rainfall has produced a spectacular display of wild flowers.
The flora and bush shrubs put on a spurt of growth with masses of flowers after the fires sweep through -this enables pollination allowing seeds to get established in the fresh and nutrient rich soils which occur after the fire.
(It's very rare to find a cluster of red and green kangaroo paws of this magnitude)
Try large view..... :-)
