Day 24

Such a good Saturday.

Despite the very little sleep, I had a great day traveling out to Szentendre (a riverside town). We took a boat up the Danube to the town, and spent the day out in the sunlight visiting beautiful churches and museums, historical Jewish memorials (the first temple built after WW2, actually), and an outside market. The picture above is from one of the many stands at the market.

I left with the desire to return, and a jar of chestnut honey.

The flatmate and I peeled off from the group at large to walk across the bridge, pick up some new soap and berries, and meet up with Axel. Topped off the night with a homemade lemon-blueberry cake and a lot of reading.

I had very low expectations for my Saturday, but I'm so glad that they proved wrong.
