Potjie
It was a rich blip day today. We had Harvest Festival in church this morning and G decorated the chappel to show "harvest from the Sea" with a little, very old, dingy supplied by Peter. One of Peter's old school books from when he was 11 years old (which is more years ago than most of us are alive) was also thrown in. I hope his family have enough sense to not let it get lost.
After a "breakfast" of last night's leftovers we cycled to the Antiques & Collectables Fair in the Holbrook Village Hall. A lot of interesting & nice stuff. C made me I bought a silver ring for £6.
This afternoon we had our first potjie in the potjie (three legged cauldron) my sister sent from SA. It wasn't a real potjie. Real potjies have to simmer for hours over a cool fire. Ours was more like a quick stew, but very nice none the less. We'll have to wait for better weather & company to do a proper pot. Any volunteers (for the company)?
