The Sunflower Trap

I don't normally plant sunflower seeds. I do however feed them to the birds. They seem to have the knack of spreading them around the garden. This example was growing out of a hanging basket of Bizzie Lizzies.
It has been quite a sight for many weeks; this leggy stem shooting out of the basket. The change in the weather has put pay to any further development and I found the head on the path today.
