Seafood Festival!

Had lunch with the wife at the seafood festival today. Ridiculously overpriced food - $29 for a small bit of chicken, 2 bits of corn, and a bowl of scallops. And someone needs to tell the $5 lemonade guy that he's not busy - 'cause it's $5 for something that looks like 12oz! But anyway, nice lunch out.

Then the day was destroyed by our cleaners. I'd asked them to remove a bit of plastic off a valve stem for a bathtub faucet. Instead they removed the whole stem. And now it leaked when they put it back on. Queue panic stations as the tenant is moving in at 6pm. So after 2 hours of messing around, I discovered that the stem had a missing spring and washer. Retrieved them from the bathtub(!!!!) and the stem was working fine again! 2 hours wasted....sigh.

Then I had to do the final clean of the house and then wait for the tenants who turned up late. I earned my beers that evenings.

Getting slightly concerned with the number of people in our business though. Too many people know what we are doing for my liking, and not people you want to do business with. Our car(s) are far too obvious and being landlords, we carry the occasional rent money.

Really think I need to start carrying again.
