Feeding time

Thanks to Phillippa for a wonderful day out at the Ashley Estuary (and around) I loved it! So exciting to see all the birds, not to mention the beach with the storm clouds etc. Lots of shots to choose from, but I've never seen this before so this is it!

This is a little shag with a chick begging for food - there were three in this nest, and they were pecking at the parent's throat to try to make it regurgitate - later this one brought up a whole fish, at least 10cm long. I thought they regurgitated partially digested food, but this wasn't. Not the prettiest thing, baby birds!
