Porty People and Places

At the heart of any vibrant community is a great Primary School. Towerbank Primary here on the promenade is no exception! The parents I meet who send their children here sing its praises. The children I see heading schoolwards are invariably happy, enthusiastic and wonderful ambassadors for their school. How many schools have an amusement arcade on the lane leading to the school gates? How many schools have an uninterrupted sweeeping beach and sea views from many of the classroom windows?

In the distance the demolition of the former fun park is almost complete. The big white building beyond is the former indoor bowls arena about to relaunch, this week as a massive tumble tot soft play and gymnastic space!

The east wind has churned up the sea and the sound of the surf was audible from our house today.
