"Biscuits For My Sister"...

...Yes, Biscuits for my sister Teigan - just a few little biscuits iced with Love for Teigan 7, who is the youngest of our grand daughters visiting us for the school holidays and who, with Amber 15, have had an adventurous time during the last 10 days or so - adventures in which my blips have been part of, during that time...

...And sadly, little Teigan has ended up in hospital where she's never been before, with a kidney infection - quite nasty too..she had been ill prior to their visit to us, but apparently hadn't recovered properly..

...One minute kids are bouncing around and then the next, they have a temperature, I'm sure you've seen it all before.. Teigan was counting all the doctors she'd seen in the one day - over 24 hours of night and day - spent with Nanna trying to sleep in a chair next to her - I'm sure you've been there before too - and there were 9 doctors today - all ever so nice and caring, some with junior doctors flanking the sides of the senior doctors at visits to her bedside which there seemed to be many of today, the senior doctors that is...

...And so, after some serious frustrations from the doctors who tried to perform the task of a blood test - and ending up with an almost major operation, not to mention the terrible deed of inserting a canula -and a huge discussion about the whys and wherefores of an Ultra-Sound and "I'm NOT GOING TO" sort of discussions, then the scene was set once again with a decision change by the gps to a... CT Scan instead and another - (then) 'I WANT AN ULTRA-SOUND - NOT A CT!!"...and then the drinking of 1 litre of water in 20 mins (I think the nurse forgot to bring it) before the trolley man came to take her to the Radiology Dept.for the kidney scan -.that wasn't so bad after all she said, it didn't hurt a bit..and "the ride was reeeally good Nan" .. yes, we've had a fun day today at the hospital and she told us ages ago she wanted to be a doctor so she could 'fix up Nan and Papa" - she's sort of changed her mind now, and would rather be a Nurse, "yes, that's a lot better"...

...Yes, she's getting a lot of 'hands on" experience right there and I do hope Papa has a good night!!

...And ofcourse when she returns home in a day or 2 - there will be some "Biscuits For My Sister"...made with Love, by Amber...
