Tentsmuir Forest

It was such a lovely day that we decided not to tidy the house, or do the weekly shop but to head out for a walk around Tentsmuir Nature Reserve in Fife.
The nature reserve supports a rich variety of plants, birds, insects and other animals.
We walked along the beach to Tentsmuir Point, where we saw seals basking on the sandbars. Then as we walked back in land we almost stood on came across these mushrooms. Then on through the forest to Morton Loch, where there are a number of bird hides. They offer a great vantage point to watch the waterfowl, it was so quiet and peaceful there, well until the mallards started squabbling!

There are many way marked walks and cycle routes through the towering pine trees so we will definitely go back.
