"confidence..."

I was always the ugly duckling....

I grew up in the shadows of others, ashamed of my teeth and how I looked. I hated the way I looked and convinced myself that because of my teeth that was why I wasn't as pretty or as popular as my friends and why no guy on earth would ever take a second glance in my direction - because I clearly wasn't worth it.

Now, thanks to the skill of my orthodontist and surgeon, I'm a completely different person! After 4 years of orthodontic treatment and an operation to correct my bite, I have a smile that up until last November I only ever dared dream about. I never believed that it would one day be a reality!

It's been over a year since surgery so I decided to go to a local photographer to spend some time in front of her lens to help me find the self confidence that I've been lacking all these years!

This is my favourite from the shoot and perhaps that ugly duckling is slowly becoming the swan that its always wanted to be.....
