Chasing the birds

Out and about in Heraklion today visiting the historical museum - a fascinating mix of icons and pottery, Venetian relics, displays of the 19th century rebellions between the Christians and the Ottomans, right up to the Second World War. Interesting to see the British involvement - both positive and negative - in much of that. A lovely lunch of swordfish and mixed seafood - with octopus hanging out to dry like some creatures from Roswell. Almost made the blip but I preferred this of a young lad chasing pigeons. He managed to catch one and got such a row from an elderly lady that the joy of the moment was dissipated.
