Toadflax

Back in the spring, I cleared a small patch of garden to have as an experimental wildflower area. We bought a range of wildflower seeds from Sarah Raven and planted them as recommended. Unfortunately, the patch was right next to the apple tree, and for the first time since we moved in (twelve years now) it was so heavily laden that some of the branches dropped and covered most of the patch. In the end, the only thing that grew was this toadflax, which is very beautiful, but on its own, doesn't make for a colourful wildflower area. Will have to try again next year.

It's been a bitty day today. Took my daughter in to work for eight o'clock, and then came back to do the recycling and wash the bins. Cup of tea after that, followed by a trip to the library via the tip to get rid of an old mattress.

After this, it was back home to work on pictures for an hour before lunch, then go and pick up my daughter from work. I went into the garden to take the above picture and then worked on more pictures on the computer.

Not the most exciting of days, but I'm pleased with what I achieved in terms of preparing photos.
