Another foreign invader
Little Egret (Egretta garzetta)
This is a second blip in the new series of birdy immigrants. Those invaders from foreign lands who came and stayed.
1. Ring-necked Parakeet (Psittacula krameri)
We were in Norfolk today so had a quick lunch at the Welney WWT in the sun. Bird-wise the place was almost a dead loss as the diggers and strimmers were hard at work cutting back the seasons growth and a digger was pulling mud from some of the pools which were in danger of turning into rather small ponds.
There were a collection of Whooper Swans in the distance and this splendid chappie who was determined to concentrate on the fishing despite the disturbance. Otherwise the ducks and waders had all cleared off to wait for a quieter time.
