The end to a lovely summer garden
The first summer in our new house has been such a pleasant one. If we're to pick one thing that stands out among all the benefits of homeownership (as oppose to living in a small apartment) it would be having a backyard.
In June I planted zucchini, beans, tomatoes, a pumpkin, watermelon, cucumber, peppers, corn and strawberries. It was a learning experience and some things didn't work out (the corn...the strawberries...the cucumber...) but some things did!
For the last week of so the weather has turned hot and dry. We were going over the weekend and I came back to some very sad, dying plants, I think it's time to start thinking about digging these up and planting some fall/winter veggies.
