On a bed of woolly hats...

Every year, my mum is really active with the charity Samaritans Purse with their project Operation Chritmas Child. If you've never heard of it, it is about making a shoebox full of Christmas presents to be sent to a child in a developing country who otherwise wouldn't receive anything (with the deeper message behind it that someone, somewhere is thinking of them and that they are loved). Throughout the year this past year, she has managed to knit 308 (and counting!) woolly hats to use as shoebox fillers. The idea of a bunch of kids running round wearing mum's crazy hats makes me smile.
