Kowhai pendant

Out in the garden this evening on a blip hunt I noticed there was a low branch on one of the kowhai trees with this solitary bunch of flowers, hanging like a vibrant yellow pendant.

Above me, cabbage tree blooms wafted their lily-like fragrance in the mild evening air.

At my feet, a black and white collie looked up adoringly as he dropped a ball for me.

Daylight saving is here. It's great to have the long evenings back at last.
