'Wild Weather'

What a windy night last night. We had the highest wind gusts that we've experienced in the last 30 years with winds in the city reaching over 140km/hr.

Lots of trees down, power cuts and debris over the roads this morning.

By lunchtime the skies had cleared and I decided to take a walk down along Southbank, but just as I was leaving to get back to the car the heavens opened up and it bucketed down for around 15 minutes. I took this shot during the downpour looking across the Yarra River from Southbank. More a bird hosing than a bird bath.

Got home tonight to no Internet, so I've just spent the best part of an hour on the phone to our provider trying to sort out the issue. The power to the house must have been cut off at some point today which must have reset some of the settings on the modem. All connected again now. Just have to wander around the house and reset all of the clocks now, then off to bed for me.
