A quirk of Lavenham!
On Thursday I took advantage of the pretty weather (and the time off work!) and went to Lavenham, a village in Suffolk famous for its timbered, ancient houses and impressive Church. Although now a popular tourist destination and a much-sought-after place to live, Lavenham was a hub of activity in the Medieval period through the wool trade, and as a result was one of the 20-wealthiest towns in England.
As elaborate and over-sized as the Church is (due to the wealth pumped into its construction) in 1525, the timbered houses are just as impressive, including this beautiful leaning pink one that I just fell in love with!
