Jammy

After our weekend away we came home with apples, damsons and windfall pears. Today I have made seven pounds of pear and damson jam. It is a beautiful colour and tastes very good. I make a big todo about making jam, and I'm always surprised when it turns out well! The jar without a lid is the one we tasted at lunch time! It is very satisfying to have home made jam and marmalade on the top shelf of the larder.
