Dingwall and the Black Isle !
This photo was taken from The Neil Gunn Memorial Site at the Hills of Docharty above Dingwall. Dingwall is the county town of Ross-shire. To the left of the town is The Cromarty Firth and the land behind that with the fields and farms is the Black Isle. The distant hills behind that is The Cairngorm Mountains. As you can see it is another glorious day with us again today Neil Gunn is the reknowned Scottish writer who was born in Dunbeath in Caithness but lived a lot of his life in and around The Black Isle. It was here that he did a lot of his writing. His books include The Silver Darlings, All about the herring fishing around the East Coast of Scotland!
I even managed a cut cornfield and a couple of bales!
