I started my independent scientific career as a royal society research fellow back in 1999 - since then I have progressed up the ranks and had some challenging times but also some amazing opportunities and the chance to meet some amazing students who have gone onto great things

Fourteen years later I am now applying back to the royal society but this time for an industrial fellowship - let's see how this goes and if successful what opportunities it brings - life is all about embracing new opportunities
