Welcome Home

The 'Welcome Home' statue on Fleetwood seafront is a tribute to the families of fishermen who would gather to welcome home the ships returning with their loved ones after being at sea,deep sea fishing, for 3 weeks at a time.
It was considered unlucky to wave them off at the start of the trip.
The bronze statue is a life size sculpture of a mother,children and the family dog and was unveiled in 1997.
