The death of the Baroness was of course welcomed in some quarters. Miners, steelworkers and shipbuilders have reason for grudge.
Then there those Argentine soldiers, sailors and airmen plus the British soldiers sent into the South Atlantic to defend the realm.
The family should of course be left to grieve their loss and there is a place for this in most hearts across the land.
The longest serving prime minister in the 20th century has been vilified, lauded and respected over the years.
This week her ashes were placed in a small wooden box and buried in Chelsea.
Strange how small the dead can become.
