Not another routine day

but it should have been according to the weather forecast. Boring, grey, cold, misty, foggy, breezy east wind, rain - pure yuk. Well I woke up to glorious blue and sunshine even if it was only 9°C. Switched on breakfast TV to get the latest weather - cold, grey, foggy, breezy, rain - more pure yuk !!??

Out quickly to do the routine things, let out the chickens, play frisbee, feed the horses, play frisbee, clear the fields of the horse's overnight droppings, play frisbee, move the horses to another field, play frisbee (at least 1 hour), go for walk with dogs, paddle in stream, throw sticks, inspect garden, play frisbee, lunch, nap, play frisbee, feed chickens, play frisbee, collect horses, play frisbee, feed horses, play frisbee, Angie home, she plays frisbee just in case I hadn't had the opportunity during the day.

And all the time, the sun either came out or was slightly covered by very high fog, no wind, no rain and even got to a reasonable 15°C and was an all round great day. Didn't get any jobs done in the garden but we had fun. Had planned in the morning to make a collage of 4 things I do on routine days. Ended up with 200 photos. The collage is a mix of things we did & saw.

In the evening, MrB returned one of thetrailers he had used to collect dried grass (not hay) for his deer's winter mash. He left the trailer half full of the stuff as he thoought we might like to try it out for the horses. They delighted in having a bucket spread over their 2012 somewhat tasteless hay and on their behalf THANK YOU MrB. When Mr&MrsB were here Saturday evening, I mentioned I couldn't find swedes anywhere. As we have come to know him, he didn't say anything but turned up today with a bag full which he had found in a small bio fruit & veg shop in a small village near Memmingen! You are a hero and THANK YOU again. I will now try this week to make another batch of Branston style pickle and hopefully in a month or two be able to invite the B's to a ploughman's lunch. just need an appropriate drink - ummmh. Talking of which, this evening I polished off one of the bottles of Weißbier (wheat beer) the B's brought on Saturday night saying it was to help with the kidney stones (commonly held belief). The beer comes from a very specialised brewery called "Kuchlbauer" based near Regensburg. Link is in English and includes a video of the famous "Hundertwasser Tower" on the brewery site. A very unusual & untraditional architect.
