The Messy Room

On our way home. On our way home.

#backblip

Monday was driving back home day which meant balancing the time available with the time the satnav* estimated the drive would take. We calculated two hours were spare which we decided to spend in s'Hertogenbosch.

Sadly, s'Hertogenbosch was closed, it being a Monday morning. The guidebook mentioned how lively the place is on Wednesdays and Saturdays when the market is in full swing. We found an open café, which on Monday morning seemed to be the place ladies meet for coffee.

Afterwards we wandered round trying to decide if would ever be worth coming back to s'Hertogenbosch. The cathedral, Sint-Janskathedraal, was open and which provided my photo of the day, looking up into the crossing tower at the junction of the nave and transept with the all-seeing eye looking back down at me (view large to see).

* I bought a new satnav for our holiday and I'm still getting used to its oddities. Nearing Antwerp it informed me of a long delay on the motorway with long queues for the Kennedy Tunnel. What I didn't expect was to be rerouted through the centre of Antwerp, fillings loosened by bumpy cobbled streets while dodging trams and motorists aiming their cars into tiny parking spaces. Just as I was thinking the satnav had gone into meltdown, it was quite a surprise to find myself back on the motorway again. And we had saved time too!

Bonus points for remembering which TV character used to say 'On our way home'.
