Grandad

I was supposed to be gone by now. Off in to Berlin to do some running. Attempting to do a 3hr marathon in fact but I am just not in the right place to leave Little R and R so soon. So Easyjet will have an empty seat and the Berlin Marathon will have one fewer runners. Disappointed not to be running it? Of course but I think the pleasure gained from staying is greater than the pleasure of achieving the 3hr goal (or would I have???).

Did dash out this morning and try a quick attempt at the run locally. Stupidly tried to carry all my water and to do a hilly run too. So failed and have pretty impressive chaffing of my shoulders from the rucsac. 3.16.12 and had to walk 2 times in the last 12km as the legs had run out of ooomph. Not great but prob better to fail at home rather than wasting 3 days on a jolly.

So the inlaws have arrived anyway, even though I am not off and away. Going to be hectic but also nice to have some support for little R
