FLYING OYSTERCATCHERS
Mischa and I cycled to the beach at Ter Heijde and walked along the shore.
Very windy it was, with a bit of sunshine and we admired so many strange and ordinary things lying on the sand.
Gulls, cormorants and the oystercatchers stood waiting. when a dog came along the oystercatchers flew away. I followed them with my camera-eye.
We saw a seal swimming, now head above the surface, then diving on search for food.
The quietness, the view across the water as far as one can see, the fresh wind blowing through our minds, it did us both very good.
Coming home again we drank our broth, ate a sandwitch and both took a nap.
My haiku:
Are all days the same
For birds, not counting the time
As we Always do?
And the proverb:
Van de hand tot den mond Valt de pap op den grond.
Translation:
From the hand to the mouth Falls the porridge on the ground.
