Two friends waiting ...
This sculpture sits in the main building in Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport.
It greets us when we arrive and bids farewell as we leave. I am not sure what the two figures represent ( does anyone know?) but they always bring a smile to our faces and children love to climb on them and have their photos taken. Even the adults lean casually against them for a holiday photo memory.
The sun was shining as it had been doing since we arrived. We have had a very relaxing stay and finally flew home to promised rain and clouds. We had a 40 min. queue to reach the immigration area and then another long wait at the carousel for the luggage. Finally I spotted a pile of bags in one corner. We found our last bag. Apparently some cases had 'fallen' off the belt and had just been tossed in a pile. No one bothered to tell the waiting passengers though !! Oh to be in England ....
It has been so good to spend time with our son, especially on his birthday now we will spend time with our daughter, whose birthday we missed yesterday !
I am rather glad the days of concocting character cakes on consecutive days are over, although it was rather fun.
