Monumentos as Bandeiras, Sao Paulo

Completed in 1950, this tribute to explorers (bandeirantes)who opened up Brazil's interior, is described as a severe work by Victor Brecheret. Situated close to the Parque Ibirapuera, traffic roars past it.
I found it today during my afternoon exploration of the Parque and the surrounding area. The park is a bit like Sao Paulo's equivalent of n
New York's Central Park.
The weather is odd here - NOT humid, as forecast, but changeable -overcast, breezy, sunny, wet...bit like at home!
