Mystery tree / shrub

Spotted in the Wester Coates area of Edinburgh today. Beautiful colourful fruit. Tree about the size of a cherry. Wonder what it is?

Was en route to a meeting about #ScotlandHour today - setting out our plans for 2014. We're a bunch of real enthusiasts for travel in Scotland. It's great when we get together. Wish we'd had longer.
