A more positive day today
It might sound odd to say that a visit to a shopping centre was a more positive day, but it turned out to be a useful day after all. One of my (many) challenges (sorry problems) is at 6'4" getting trousers, jumpers and shirts long enough. Hence, according to my wife I always am behind the times in my appearance as I cannot find the stuff to wear. Going into a clothing store is a dispiriting experience - lots of stuff on offer which do not fit me.
This time we hit on a new wheeze. M&S sell stuff for tall and large people on line but not in their stores, so we looked on line, noted down the details and went to Bluewater to see what they looked like. With the help of an assistant we were able to indentify the clothes and make a decision - then go home and order them on line for collection at our local store, which we duly did.
So, that was why it was a more positive day. Coupled with a scone and coffee at John Lewis and a hobble around Waitrose. My slow pace with the crutches enabled Susan to have time to browse herself while I was sitting on a bench resting, watching people go by and looking for a blip.
Bluewater does have some nice touches in terms of art and decoration, this being one of them. No idea what it is meant to be - there are two graduated scales, one showing the temperature, but no idea what the scale on the left shows. I thought it made a good structural composition.
