I'll have to try and build this brake a sort of underpant-style protective thing out of some flexible plastic or some duct tape, to stop it going the way of its bike-station-salvage predecessors, which eventually all stopped working even after being cleaned after prolonged subjection to the unpleasantnesses available to things whose mounting-point is far too close to the wheel to permit a mudguard beneath.
