"UNITED WE CONQUER"

This Commando memorial stands above Spean Bridge and looks toward the impressive Grey Corries and the Nevis range of mountains. I pass it every few weeks when I drive north to my second home. I first came across this impressive and thought inspiring monument when as a school boy I passed this way on a bicycle with my brother. We were en route from Stirling to Kintail and we found something of interest interesting around every corner. This is one that I still visit regularly.
The inscription reads "In memory of the officers and men of the Commandos who died in the second world war 1939 - 1945. This country was their training ground".
