Custom House, Dublin
This is Custom House in Dublin, Ireland. Located on the north bank of the River Liffey, on Custom House Quay between Butt Bridge and Talbot Memorial Bridge.
It was originally designed and constructed to collect custom duties from shipping imports and took ten years to complete. Opened for business November 1791, it cost £200,000 to build.
When the port of Dublin moved further downriver, the buildings’ original use became obsolete and today houses the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government.
