Swiss Carrot Fields.
The Rhone Valley was flattened by the ancient Rhone glacier (currently retreated to about 200 km away) which left behind this wonderful rich, silty soil that is farmed intensively. These are carrots as far as the eye can see, and the autumn fog which rolls off the mountains often blankets them. It had just lifted a bit this morning to give this pastoral scene some brightness.
Bigger carrot plants!
P.S. Forgot to thank everyone for putting yesterday's Wall Butterfly in the spotlight, honoured.
