Giant house spider

Backblip. This big hairy beauty of a spider was on my neighbour's garage wall late at night. It is a Tegenaria gigantea, the same species that, in most of Britain (outside of Wales, where a related species dominates), people spot roaming fast across the floor in their house late at night, usually out of the corner of the eye if my house is representative! These guys help control pests in your house. if you don't like them, if you must do something, please don't kill them. Catch them in a cup or glass and release them outside. I took this photo looking down the wall from above. You can see its magnificent palps and multiple eyes.
