Ruthy's Record

Oggie Oggie Oggie!

Today, for the first time in ages, I made a batch of Welsh Cakes and even though I say so myself, they are very delicious indeed and have gone down a storm with hubby and the girls. After my time at the bakestone I watched the programme Max Boyce at 70 that I had Sky+'d a couple of weeks ago, and what an absolute brilliant programme it was. If you don't know who he is I suggest you look him up on You Tube and watch some of the stuff he used to do on TV back in the 70s and up to the present day. He is the most fabulous comedian and folk singer composing and singing many songs about the Welsh, whether it be rugby, working down the mines etc etc. He is a true Welsh legend and watching the programme today with highlights of some of the stuff he used to do in the 70s, took me right back to my childhood. I remember so well crying with laughter with my Mum at his hilarious tales that he used to tell in his saturday night shows on the telly, as well as shedding tears at some of the moving songs he used to sing too. My Dad, on the other hand, never appreciated his humour, being English an all!!!! Here is one of the videos of one of his most famous songs here in Wales....Hymns and Arias. Enjoy folks! Another hour out on the bike this evening and 11 miles done! Get in!
