Full Tern

Lovely walk along Monmouth Beach and the Cobb today. Bonus to see so many Terns on the beach who Mr Lovely encouraged to fly so I could get some shots of them (all done humanely!)

Walked part way along the top of the Cobb wall, but had to turn round due to the rough weather and remembering a friend years ago who was sadly taken into the sea from the Cobb in rough weather. Mr Lovely braved it alone and got some stunning shots of the waves breaking over the Cobb - so envious!

On the walk back, a cormorant which was sat in the harbour caught my eye, then disappeared. When he appeared again he had a large eel in his mouth and we watched, part in amazement, part in horror, as he fought with the eel until he managed to swallow it whole, still resisting capture. Even when swallowed, it appeared the eel was still trying to make a bid for freedom as the Cormorant's neck convulsed. Nature can be so cruel and so amazing all at the same time.

Very difficult to choose a Blip today. Just shows, taking half an hour out of the day to take some shots can produce so many choices!
