Blowholes

After an early morning sea-kayaking session we headed off by boat to the main island and arranged for a driver to take us to see the flying foxes (bats) and the blowholes.

A stretch of coastline on the far side of Tongatapu is called Mapu ‘a Vaea (The Whistle of Vaea) because of the whistling sound that emerges from the coastline as the waters of the Pacific crash into the natural channels of the coral rock, sending water spouts up to 18 metres into the air.

After that we headed into the market - it's the rules that you have to go shopping at least once in a foreign country. Bought some souveniers and some fresh fruit and veges. Then a boat ride home.

Another kayaking session and then relaxing over a tropical cocktail. I could get used to this life.
