With a Hop and a Jump!

I caught this Robin today sitting on this rock near the shore. He stood and posed for a while, then decided to fly off. In the process it was interesting to see he hopped off and jumped down from the rock before he slightly opened his wings to guide him onto a rock below. I caught him in mid jump and thought he looked quite athletic with his trailing leg! that must be the one he pushed off with! It looks almost as if he is jumping over the rock!
