Ae fond farewell

Today we travelled up to Morar to say goodbye to our old friend Frank. This was taken during a short photo stop in Glen Coe. We first met Frank about 18 years ago at a bothy on the shores of Loch Nevis. Since then we have had a fond attachment to the area, including the village of Inverie, on the other side of the loch. The attachment to Frank however was strongest. Frank was a keen walker and this seemed an appropriate image for today.

Many a Friday would see us drive up after work to then walk the 7 miles or so, down the edge of Loch Morar , with our gear for the weekend on our backs, before walking over the pass to Tarbert Bay and the old church. Frank would always have the lights on to welcome us, no matter how late we arrived.

We have many, many happy memories, he touched our lives in a special way and the lives of many, if today's turn out is anything to go by. He loved a story, loved to embellish the truth, was an incorrigible reprobate and was truly one of a kind and I will miss him and was blessed to have known him.

Good night Frank, rest in Peace xxx
