Time Out in the High Country

Day two of the photography convention, and what better place to hold a workshop than a high country station!

This is Balmoral High Country Station, situated not far from Lake Tekapo.

We saw (and photographed!) merino sheep being shorn, with hand shears. There were also lots of farm dogs with lots of energy and personality to boot!

And then there were two lovely ladies (Helen & Sarah) and their horses, who posed for us for hours. They were asked to do all sorts of things; trot the horses, stand next to the horses, walk the horses, and put on their long winter coats in very warm temperatures - which they did, all without complaining too! They were real stars.

This shot is one of them with her horse and dog, enjoying the majestic views.

We've discovered that there are about 15 blippers at this convention, including A Cycling Granny, Ambling Camera, Chrissy Bell, Travelling Kiwi, Daring2Go, Rainie, Ginger Nan, Pcc, and lots of others!

We're having dinner at the convention hall tonight, where the theme is 'country'.
Of course!
