Dedication ...

I blipped this stained glass window about 18 months ago when it was just a drawing on paper.
Now the window is in place in Cawood Church in Yorkshire and today it was dedicated to the memory of my sister in law, Dorothy Hunt (Dot). Dot was a Lay Reader for the parishes of Wistow and Cawood but she was much more!
Apparently her "Ding Along A Dot" Christmas morning service for the children was more eagerly anticipated than Christmas itself.

My brother was recounting to me today that she would sometimes disappear from home for a few days. He would arrive home from work to find a note saying that she had gone to be with someone or other. That usually meant someone who was dying.

For her dedication to the church and the two parishes, local people raised in excess of £4000 for this window to be made and installed as a lasting tribute to her.
