Dunham deer

Today's the day .................... to sunbathe

A mild day today at Dunham Massey Hall, once home to the Booths and the Greys, Earls of Warrington and Stamford - and now run by the National Trust.

The large Georgian house is set in nearly 200 acres of park-woodland which has been there since the Middle Ages. Many of the oak trees, which make up the larger part of the woodland, date back to the 17th century. Dunham Park is the only place in the northwest of England with such a concentration of old trees, and one of only a few remaining in England, making it a site of national importance.

The fallow deer in the park were quite oblivious to all the visitors today and this fine stag was indulging in a spot of sunbathing in the warm autumn sunshine ................
