Princess

I tried to shield my girls from Disney's influence and princess fantasies for as long as I could, as I do not wish to propagate the vain princess stereotype. I don't want to raise girls who are conceited and place too much emphasis on superficial beauty.

But as soon as OO started preschool and interacted with peers who obviously have an in-depth knowledge of all things Disney, princesses in particular, there's no turning back for OO.

Succumbing to the reality, we got OO a Sophia tiara and necklace to go with her Sophia outfit. You see, I'm cringing as I admit to doing this, but when I saw her whole face lit up with excitement as she strutted her stuff, it did bring a smile to my face.

After all, she is indeed a true princess in our hearts. A girl with a heart of gold and beauty that radiates from within.
