The First Cup of Tea

...and soaking up the view from the house that we are staying at Tekapo.  Up very early, but we did have time for a cup of tea on Suezettes terrace to enjoy the view before heading down to the Tekapo Hall to continue the setting up for the convention opening. From 3pm registrations then the official opening by the Mayor of McKenzie Region, with addresses from the President of the Photographic Society of NZ, and our own convenor.  Digital Salon Showing was great and put together beautifully by dups.

In June last year Tekapo and the Mackenzie Basin was designated as an International Dark Sky Reserve; it seemed appropriate we should include this in our weekend programme. We had three well respected astronomy presenters that could show some pretty amazing imagery.

Day one ....success, phew!!
