Lud's Cave

Sunny day after a tiring week so we decided to head out. We went to Lud's Church in a hillside near Buxton, though it's actually in Staffordshire.

It's an amazing bright green damp cavern. And legend has it Gawain (one of King Arthur's) slew the Green Knight here. I studied the original 14th century poem at University, many years ago now so the details are a bit hazy. To be fair they were probably a bit hazy then too.
