The set

In this interpretation of Orpheus, it begins on his wedding day to Eurydice, but then promptly moves to her funeral day after she has been tragically killed. Orpheus rejects the comforts of his friends and descends into an internal journey through the stages of grief.

As the chorus, we play his friends at first, then become the Furies, tortured creatures who guard the gate to the Underworld. Finally, we play the kindly, carefree spirits in the Elysian Fields who finally direct Orpheus to Eurydice.

Here are some of the chorus being led in a warm-up by our talented choreographer, Tina Horan.

A film-maker came into our first dress rehearsal and produced this exciting trailer. It gives a good taster of the show and showcases our wonderful soloist Ronald Samm very well. I even feature in it a few times! What a joy and excitement to be involved in such a daring project.
