Blue Damselfly or kekewai

Austrolestes colensonis

This is New Zealand's largest damselfly and can change the colour of its body to help thermoregulation, apparently.

Went for a nice canoeing trip today, but I am not game enough to take my precious camera on a canoe, despite it being "splashproof". Perhaps next time I could take a water proof camera bag with me, as I did see some lovely water birds. I do have some photos on my phone, but won't be downloading those until I get home.
