This is Marshside.

For obvious reasons, this area is called Marshside, beyond this wetland there is a retaining bank protecting the housing which can be seen in the distance.
Winter Hill forms a backdrop to the scene. The hills appear closer than normal due to today's dull lighting and reasonable visibility, on many occasions they are almost invisible. The transmitter on Winter Hill provides a large area of north-west England with TV and radio signals.
The marsh is beginning to fill up with over wintering birds.
